About Nikki Crick Freelance

There are a variety of reasons why people write, for example, to inform, to entertain, to advertise, to justify theirs and others actions, or simply for financial gain.

My personal desire to write is based on these principles and more. I enjoy the freedom writing gives me. Obviously by being aware of my own personal bias, this allows me to present a balanced non judgemental argument.

I am fascinated by the evolution of language, and the way in which it can be used to evoke emotive responses. I have an absolute passion for grammar and spelling. I enjoy writing (and undertaking the necessary research involved) to extend my knowledge and that of others, hopefully, whilst presenting the information in a fresh, honest manner. I believe research and the writing that follows is beneficial for keeping my mind active.

I want to be able to convey my interest in people and their experiences, and the stories they have to tell. I enjoy challenging peoples perceptions, presenting the other side of the story and causing debates.

I enjoying playing Devil's advocate. I want to write pieces that will get people talking, whether it is in the local pub or at work.

I am currently involved with the charity Diabetes UK, both through campaigning and fund raising. Having lost my mother to diabetes in May 2005, I feel it is necessary to educate people about this condition, its symptoms and complications. In doing this I hope to raise awareness and fund raising for the charity to allow it to continue with its worthwhile crusade.

As part of my fund raising, I completed the Great North Run in 2006, and aim to do so again in the future.
