Charities

Listed below are some charities that do great work, please check them out.
You can do something really exciting to raise money or just do something truly amazing and donate!

A message from my dear friend, Susan Matthews:

I am completing three major chalenges this year and I need your help!

  • The Race for Life

  • The Playtex Moon Walk

  • The Sahara Stomp

I am looking for sponsorship for these events.

I would appreciate any help you may be able to give. I am specifically looking for donations of sponsorship, equipment, items I can auction or raffles prizes. I will be grateful for anything you can donate and would like to assure you, it will help!

All money raised will be donated equally to all three charities, or if you wish, specifically to just one.

Please make monetary donation through either:

Race For Life
Playtex Moon Walk
Sahara Stomp

In return for your support, I will include your details on any sponsorship events, raffles and / or auctions I organise, such as the above pages, which will be open to all UK residents.

In addition, I will include your name and / or donation in Thank You emails, letters, etc. I send.

I will also let my Twitter followers and Facebook friends know about your generosity and support.

More about the challenges, I aim to complete:

Race for Life 1st May 2010

My friend, Julie, told me about her dad, so I want to do this race for Julie & her family and to raise funds for Cancer Research so they may be able to help others in the future.

Unfortunately, Julie’s father was diagnosed with terminal bowel cancer in spring/summer 2009, sadly, he will not recover. I know that his message to people is to get all the tests you are offered and do not put them off. He is the reason from here on in I vow to raise as much money as I can for cancer charities.

Events like Race for Life are vital in funding Cancer Research UK’s life-saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer. By sponsoring me, now you can help more people survive cancer.

The Playtex Moon Walk 15th May 2010

Walk the Walk is a grant making charity, which means that everybody taking part in his or her challenges is raising money for Walk the Walk. The charity then looks at various projects and campaigns that are involved with breast cancer and grants funds to where we know it will make the most difference. Our policy is to support research and to support those that have cancer now with equipment and cash.

Sahara Stomp 18th-23rd November 2010

The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT) provides life-changing experiences and opportunities to thousands of terminally ill, disabled and disadvantaged children each year. All children, regardless of age, ability or social circumstance, have the right to play in a safe environment. For many children, this is not possible in their daily environment.

A holiday or daytrip at The Adventure Farm gives these children a fantastic opportunity to escape the stresses and traumas of their everyday life and simply become children again

.

An amazing charity, which offers free adventure breaks and activities to children who are disadvantaged by illness, disability and poverty.  They need to raise in excess of £800,000 a year and they TOTALLY rely on donations.  They have some famous patrons in Lee Boardman, Jennifer James & Andrew 'Freddie' Flintoff.

Please read more about them here.

Thank you so much for reading.

I really appreciate any help you can give.

Other charities that need your help:

Diabetes UK

Diabetes UK is the largest organisation in the UK working for people with diabetes, funding research, campaigning and helping people live with the condition.

April 5th 2010 will Mark the 10th anniversary of the tragic death of Chris Loftus and Kevin Speight.

The family and friends of Chris and Kevin feel that they wish to commemorate this significant milestone and have decided to raise money for Candlelighters childrens cancer charity in their memory.

Help for Heroes

The charity was launched in 2007 to help our wounded servicemen and women, who do an immense job serving our country.
